First identified as having been written by Lady Gregory from a note on the envelope. Confirmed by comparing the signature on the letter to those of hers available online.

Sunday - Oct 20 -Dear Mrs. Huntington - I am afraid I shall not see you again this time - for I must thank you + C.H. very warmly for this most delightful evening - I could not have been to [Tarsie?] under more pleasant [conditions] - And I should not have liked to face it by myself or [let/not  the] dastardly [chetanies].
